A land of towering, snow-clad mountains, temples and monasteries, perched precariously over vast forest-swathed valleys.
The Kingdom of Bhutan or ‘Land of the Dragon’ is in the Eastern Himalayas. Although a small country (the same size as Switzerland) it is one of the most diverse on Earth due to intact forests and an ancient culture that values nature (350 – 400 bird species). It is also one of the least visited, only opening to tourism in the 1970’s.
During his talk, Duncan will aim to introduce you to Bhutan and with the rewards of Satyr Tragopan, Ibisbill and Rufous-necked Hornbill to name a few, it will be well worth it!
