There is a misconception that hunting with hounds is completely illegal. But the Hunting Act 2004 allows hunting to take place in certain circumstances by including ‘exemptions’ that only apply if several conditions were fulfilled.
These were originally intended to allow the killing of mammals if required for exceptional reasons. However, these are open to misuse.
This presentation will look at how hunts continually seek to abuse the legislation and get away with committing wildlife crime.
