Invasive house mice have colonised Gough Island, a UK Overseas Territory, from early ships exploring the South Atlantic. Having grown large and bold the mice now kill nearly 2 million seabird chicks every year. Recognising that Gough is one of the world’s most important seabird nesting sites, the RSPB is beginning an ambitious project to eradicate the mice and save the Tristan albatross and Gough bunting from extinction
