Mexico is home to between 90-120 endemics species, most of which are tied in some way to the numerous mountains of Mexico.
 The country is 2,383 miles [3,835 km] from North to South. The massive land mass area of Mexico is 761,605 sq mi (1,972,550 sq km).

 The third tallest mountain in North America is in Mexico, Pico de Orizaba (18,491 feet/ 5636 meters). Mexico has twenty-seven mountain ranges within its borders with average elevations of between 4,921–9842 feet (1,500–3,000 meters).
 Mexico has 145 IBA’s within it borders, and depending on taxonomy is home to between 90-120 endemics species, most of which are tied in some way to the numerous mountains of Mexico.
