#My200BirdYear is a challenge for birders of all ages and abilities, encouraging you to see 200 species in the course of 2017.

The UK’s best-selling bird magazine, Bird Watching, wants to inspire you to get out watching birds, whether on a half-hour stroll during your lunch hour, or a week-long birdwatching trip to an avian hotspot.

They can be anything from the birds on your back garden feeders, to seabirds passing offshore as you relax on the beach.

There are no restrictions on where you watch, and you won’t have to wait for your ticks to be approved by a committee – it’s all about enjoying new birds, and leaning more about the wildlife all around us.

Editor Matt Merritt and assistant editor Mike Weedon will talk about how you can hit the target without travelling far beyond your own patch, as well as how their own years have gone. And for latecomers who can’t wait until 2018 to start the challenge, there’s details of an exciting new autumn challenge.

Followed by a book signing by Matt Merritt on the WILD Sounds & Books stand M3/48 -53
