It is now 30 years since Mark first travelled around the world with Douglas Adams (author of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy) in search of aye-ayes, Amazonian manatees, Komodo dragons, and a motley collection of other endangered species.
He returned just over 20 years later with actor and comedian Stephen Fry to see how the animals – and the people striving to protect them – had fared in the years since.
In this highly entertaining and thought-provoking talk, Mark reminisces about their travels and, most importantly, brings the story up to date.
Whatever happened to the last few remaining northern white rhinos, the critically endangered Yangtze river dolphin, and Sirocco, the kakapo that infamously shagged Mark’s head?
