This presentation by award-winning photographer Ben Osborne, will feature recent images of Albatrosses and other birds commonly seen in the Southern Oceans.
For the past 3 years Ben has worked on the MV Hebridean Sky for leading Antarctic cruise company “Polar Latitudes”. This provided excellent opportunities for him to visit the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula, all of which have distinctive and spectacular concentrations of wildlife. He will also draw on his extensive collection of images of the wildlife of Bird Island, photographed when he overwintered there as a British Antarctic Survey scientist in the early 1980’s.
If you ever wondered how to weigh a wandering albatross or what lurks in their stomach then this is the talk for you!
