The Atlantic Rainforest, is one of the richest domains on Earth regarding biodiversity. including more than 20,000 species of vascular plants, 350 freshwater fish, 543 amphibians, 197 reptiles and 250 mammals. This rich biodiversity greatly is illustrated by birds, who stand out as the group of vertebrates with the greatest number of species within the domain. A recent study indicates that 891 species of birds inhabit the Atlantic Rainforest, of which 215 are endemic. This total corresponds to 46% of Brazilian birds and 8.3% of all birds on the planet, or one in every 12 birds that exist lives in the Atlantic Rainforest.,
