Diane and Kevin Foley were the lucky winners of the Bill Oddie auction lot had a fabulous afternoon at Hampstead Heath, here’s what they had to say about their unique experience…….

“We were very excited indeed to make the winning bid at the Birdfair charity auction, to spend a morning on Hampstead Heath with Bill Oddie.  On a mutually convenient date in early October, we met Bill bright and early at Hampstead railway station and walked up Parliament Hill to be greeted by amazing views of the London skyline from the top of the hill.

We spent over 3 hours wandering the Heath with Bill and were also joined by his friend Dave, who kindly took the photo of the two of us with Bill.  Although the winter thrushes hadn’t yet arrived, we saw a variety of wildfowl, including some very handsome tufted ducks and, of course, the famous ring-necked parakeets!  More importantly, spent time with Bill, talking about everything from birds and the environment to politics and music!

So, thank you to Bill (and Dave) for making time for us, and sharing your knowledge and interest with us.  Our winning bid was not just well worth the money, but priceless!”

A huge thank you to Diane, Kevin and all the other winners that kindly donated to our auction raising a total of just over £19,000!
